Cape Fear Community College

Advising and Registration

Academic Advising

Cape Fear Community College views student advisement as an important, on-going process.  Every student is assigned a faculty advisor who assists the student in selecting and scheduling appropriate classes to fulfill his/her educational requirements. Non-degree students are assigned a counselor as their advisor who assists in selecting and scheduling appropriate classes.

Students are encouraged to meet with their assigned advisors each semester for assistance in scheduling classes and completing the registration form. Students on probation or students registering via the TRAC (Telephone Registration at Cape Fear) line may be required to meet with their advisor.  Advisors' office hours are posted on their office doors.

Students must accept the responsibility of familiarizing themselves with specific course, prerequisite, corequisite, and program requirements.

While advising is an ongoing process, specific times are designated prior to each registration period. Refer to the Academic Calendar.
