The Truth is Out There: Evaluating Internet Resources
The Internet is a valuable tool in the research process. It allows us to access information that might not otherwise be available to us. That said, it is especially important for us to understand that anyone can publish anything on the Internet. This is why it is essential for us to critically examine, question, and evaluate information found on the web. The truth may or may not be out there. However, there are a number of ways for us to determine whether or not the information we find searching the internet is authoritative, accurate, objective, and complete.

Many college librarians, instructors, and other professionals have created and posted tutorials, exercises, and lectures to help students and other researchers in this evaluation process. Below are links to a variety of resources to assist you in evaluating web sites and the information you find while cruising the information highway.
