Employment Information
Equal Employment Opportunity
As we strive to maintain a diverse workforce, CFCC encourages all qualified persons to apply without regard to race, ethnicity, gender, age, religious affiliation or disability.
General Employment Information
- Read the job announcement carefully to make sure that the position is currently “open”; that you understand the qualifications of the position and that you meet all the minimum requirements.
- Ensure all the requested information is filled in completely and accurately using the Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) Application Form. Just putting “see resume” on the application is not acceptable and your application will not be eligible for consideration by the search committee.
- Avoid leaving any gaps in your employment history.
- Proofread your application material for accuracy, spelling and grammar.
- Complete the application form online or if you are handwriting your application ensure that you write legibly.
- Include your resume, curriculum vitae and/or cover letter only as supplemental documents, but not as replacements for the requested information.
- Sign and date your application.
- For individuals applying for positions that require degrees and/or professional certifications - you must provide a copy of your university/college transcript(s) and certification(s) with your application package. Xerox copies are acceptable for consideration of the application by the search committee and hiring official.
- All full time employees are required to provide an official copy of any degree awarding transcripts after a final full-time hiring decision is made.
- All temporary or adjunct faculty are required to provide an official transcript after a part-time or temporary hiring decision is made.
- CFCC also requires three letters of reference along with the application form. Reference letters must be from a third party and should be written to highlight those qualifications the applicant possesses that match the required knowledge, skills or abilities for the vacancy. Failure to provide three reference letters will not automatically disqualify an applicant; however they are something that the search committee will be looking for when considering the application pool in their decision regarding interviews.
- Reference letters can be submitted separately or as an inclusion to the application.
- The letters can be submitted in-person; mailed to the Personnel Office (Cape Fear Community College, 411 N. Front Street, Wilmington, NC 28401); sent via FAX at (910) 362-7259 or emailed to cfcc-jobs@cfcc.edu as an attachment.
- Return your application to the Personnel office prior to 5:00 pm on the posted closing date to guarantee consideration.
- Keep a copy of all application materials for future use. Personnel will not make copies of the submitted application materials.
Pay and Benefits
CFCC offers a competitive salary package. Comprehensive benefits, including health, life and disability insurance, as well as paid holidays, vacation & sick leave, and a retirement package, are offered for full time positions.
