Virus: W32/Blaster Worm
Download the Microsoft patch for Windows 2000 or the patch for Windows XP.
Download the Symantec Cleaning Agent to remove the virus from your computer (only necessary if the virus has infected your computer).

Computer Services has posted anti-virus information and utilities as a convenience to the faculty and staff of Cape Fear Community College for their personal use on non-college owned computers. While we have done our best to locate the best and safest tools to use against viruses, we can make no guarantee as to their efficacy and/or compatibility with your own computer. Neither do we have the resources to instruct on or help troubleshoot any problems which might arise in the use of these products on home computers.
Having said all that, if you follow the instructions in any accompanying directions or "Read Me" file prior to running the utility, you should be OK.
