  3. College advertising and marketing is well done and effective.

  4. I do not feel the college adequately advertises or markets the Hampstead Campus.

o5. Need to have more advertisement for HEATT.

  5. College publications are well done and appealing.

  6. Printing requests are processed within a reasonable time.

  7. Photocopy requests are processed within a reasonable time.

  8. Services are performed accurately/correctly.

w5. This is minor, but usually the copy center forgets to "drill".

  5. Budget transfers are clear and made known to the programs involved.

  6. Payroll services are adequate to meet my needs.

x5. Part-time personnel are not allowed direct deposit although I realize this has something to do with classes being paid that never existed, perhaps there could be another way to verify part-time instructors.

z5. I would like to see automatic paycheck deposit for part-time faculty.

  7. Services for parking are satisfactory for my needs.

k5. Often have trouble finding parking space in auxiliary lot across from RR Museum. The problem is made worse when students and museum visitors use it too. Sign needs to be larger and violators need to be towed.

n5. The auxiliary parking for part time is atrocious, rough; the school should pave and provide more part time parking facilities.

s5. There is not an adequate number of parking spaces for part-time instructors. Those we have are in dire need of being redone. Part-time instructors may have to drive to the school two or three times a day. Also when classes start before noon and end at 10:00 p.m. the streets are not too safe if we have to park behind the Schwartz building.

u5. Auxiliary parking lot is always full and there are nails and glass all over the ground. My tires have picked up two nails in three months time. The lot is always full and there is nowhere for part-time faculty to park! I have to arrive three hours early to find a parking spot.

x5. Please, do I really need to explain the inadequacy of parking for part-time instructors?

y5. There are too many vacant parking spaces in full-time faculty and staff parking lots. It takes an act of congress for part-time employees to park there when the auxiliary lot is full.

  8. My travel requests are processed within a reasonable time.

  3. Computer equipment in my work area is adequate for my needs.

x5. #37 & 38 Part-time instructors don't have computers or a place to sit. We steal phones, computers and desk space where we can find them.

  3. Hours of operation are satisfactory.

  4. Maintenance and cleanliness of the food services area is satisfactory.

x5. The cafeteria always looks awful, but unless you have a staff person assigned to just clean up it will always look bad.

  1. Staff is courteous and helpful.

  2. Variety and types of housekeeping services provided are adequate.

    o5. #47-50 Needs improvement.

t5. #47 & 48 Floors are often dirty. Desktops are never wiped, even when obviously dirty. Sometimes there's no garbage can/waste paper basket in the classroom.

  3. Buildings and classrooms are clean and well kept.

  4. Bathrooms are clean and stocked adequately.

m5. Toilet paper to "ladies" on 6th floor has on several occasions been lacking.

x5. S-building 5th floor women's bathroom is consistently out of toilet paper. Just leave more in there if they can't get back to it.

a6. On numerous occasions bathrooms messy, inadequately stocked with paper goods. Primarily in S-building 2,3,4th floors!

  5. Overall, I am satisfied with housekeeping services.

Facilities Maintenance

  1. Staff is courteous and helpful.

  2. Staff responds to requests for services within a reasonable time.

o5. #52 & 53 Repair times are entirely too slow at times, as long as months sometimes.

  3. Maintenance problems are handled promptly and efficiently.

  4. Procedures for requesting services are effectively communicated.

r5. Requests for classroom repair or modification seem to have been either placed in the inbox or ignored.

  5. The buildings and grounds are maintained in good functional order.

q5. I'm very concerned about the potential health hazards within the building at the Hampstead campus. Every single week that I teach there (Rm. 5), I come home with chest and overall body aches, and spike a fever. I feel feverish all night and all day the next day. By the third day I'm fine again. Several of my students have contracted severe upper respiratory infections that lasted for sever weeks. Further, we often have trouble with either being too hot or too cold. I really worry about potential hazards such as asbestos (this I thought that was taken care of), lead-based paint, and mold and mildew. Please look into this situation!

r5. I have a physics lab in which water access is non-existent.

a6. Generally speaking the grounds do look attractive. An area that is unattractive is the smoking ramp going into the front of the S-building. Litter and cigarette smoke detracts from the front entrance.

  6. The general appearance of the college landscape is attractive and neat.

  7. The classrooms and offices are comfortably heated and cooled.

o5. During season changes sometimes you will freeze or burn up.

p5. The droning noise in S508 is constant and most annoying. Emanates from behind double doors (locked) inside compute classroom.

q5. #57 & 58 One evening when a room in the South wing was too warm, I was unpleasantly surprised to find out that the Evening Coordinator could not control our thermostat! He indicated that he would have to let maintenance take care of it the next day. Our class ended up having to move, which was very disrupting! In the Hampstead building, we have to run a portable space heater in order to stay warm. One evening we didn't have one available and the students begged me to let them out early!

r5. During the weeks of March 19-23 and 26-30, heat has been excessive and non-conducive to effective learning.

t5. They are usually overheated in the winter and in the summer they are over cooled.

x5. Freezing in summer, overheated in winter.

a6. The classrooms' temperatures have consistently been an on-going problem for years. Students complain, instructors complain, yet little resolution accomplished.

  8. Overall, I am satisfied with the maintenance and upkeep of college facilities.

o5. Maybe need to have maintenance employee at night.

Safety and Security

  1. Emergency and evacuation procedures are adequate and effectively communicated.

j5. There should be greater emphasis placed on emergency and evacuation procedures in every class at the beginning of every semester so that everyone would know immediately what to do in such an event.

p5. #59, 60 & 61 You need a part time instructor guidebook presenting this info.

a6. Still confused about what should be done with our disabled, wheel chair bound students during evacuation procedures!

  2. CFCC has a safety plan that is updated periodically and distributed to employees.

q5. I have never received any info about a safety plan.

  3. I know where to go for first aid services.

j5. I have no idea where to go for first aid services, but I think everyone should be informed.

    k5. What first aid services?

m5. I have no knowledge of any first aid center.

    q5. No clue.

w5. I don't know where to go for first aid.

  4. Prompt and proper action is taken when a security or safety problem arises.

  5. The college provides adequate campus security.

a6. As an instructor, I no longer am willing to teach nighttime classes because of safety concerns. Security staff do not make a strong presence at the campus. However, on one occasion when I did need their assistance with some loud, rowdy students, an officer responded quickly and disbanded the group.

  6. Overall, CFCC provides a safe and secure environment for students, faculty and staff.

x5. Unless I read a circular as a part-time instructor, I have no idea what they offer.

Learning Resource Center (Library and Media Center)

  1. Staff is courteous and helpful.

  2. Variety and types of services are adequate.

l5. I have heard a few times that there is no one in the Learning Lab that can either work one on one with the student or knowledgeable enough in the subject area to be of much help.

  3. LRC resources are up-to-date and readily available.

q5. #79 & 81 Videos for psychology/early childhood education are poor, in terms of range of topics and age (too old) of the resources available.

  4. Procedures to access services are communicated and easy to follow.

  5. LRC resources meet the needs of instruction.

    x5. We need more stations.

  6. Training and assistance in accessing LRC resources is adequate.

  7. The hours of operation are satisfactory.

Student Development

  1. Staff is courteous and helpful with students, faculty and staff.

  2. Policies and procedures accommodate students, faculty, and staff.

x5. Conflicting application of student attendance policies, death of family member, hospitalization, does it count as an absence or is it at the discretion of the instructor?

  3. Student access to counselors is adequate.

  4. The admissions process is effective in placing students in appropriate courses.

  5. Orientation activities for new students are effective.

  6. Student access to career and job center services is adequate.

o5. Need to have more advertisement for HEATT.

  7. The registration and pre-registration processes are satisfactory.

  8. Services of the registrar’s office are adequate to meet my needs.

z5. The way that grade sheets are turned in needs to be revised. I teach two courses and have waited in line (a long time) behind someone with 5-7 course sheets. Perhaps more people handling grade sheets at end of semester?

  9. Recruiting activities and materials effectively portray the college.

  10. Enrollment management services are adequate to meet my needs.

  11. Student Government Association (SGA) is effective in promoting student interests.

  12. Student activities and athletics are effective in promoting student interests.

  13. Financial aid assistance and information are readily available to students.

  14. Switchboard services are satisfactory.

Other Comments:

q5. Not enough summer course opportunities! (for students and instructors). Part-time instructors need access to student records. Are we on "the system"?

r5. Although parking is not a part of this survey, it is important enough to make mention here: Parking is a serious problem for part-time instructors, especially at certain times of the day. Although I've made recommendations, the problem and its declaration falls on deaf ears. This is a problem for all part-time instructors.

a6. No section/number to address the quality of services available to staff and students at the Learning Lab. This presently is separate from the LRC and is worthy of evaluation/comment!
