Cape Fear Community College Foundation, Inc.
How do I make a gift to the College?
We welcome your support. Since the Foundation helps to underwrite nearly every element of the college's mission, many of the things that make CFCC such a special place would not be possible without the support of caring people in our community like you. As the college grows, so do our needs for your support. All gifts are tax-deductible. We urge you to join your neighbors and friends and recognize that an investment in our students is an investment in our community. It's an investment that stretches your giving dollars and strengthens the economic vitality of our region and our neighborhoods. It is an investment that works for everybody. It's what they call "a win-win."

Cash and/or Check
This is the most common method by which we receive your contributions. Checks should be made payable to "CFCC Foundation," and will be acknowledged with a receipt for tax purposes.
Securities
Donors may make gifts of securities to the College. Securities may be transferred electronically or by mail, and donors will receive full value for the gift on the date of transfer. If you seek more information on this, please feel free to call us at the Foundation office at 910-362-7027.
Payroll deduction
Full-time Cape Fear Community College employees can make contributions to the College via monthly payroll deduction.
Credit card
Contributions may be made to the College using Visa and Mastercard.
Pledges
Donors may make pledges of future gifts to the College. Pledges signify that full payment is expected at some point in the future and are recorded as such.
Gifts-In-Kind
Gifts-in-kind are donated tangible and intangible assets and property. The most frequent examples include art, books, equipment, automobiles, boats inventory, personal property, and other physical assets or materials that represent value.
Gifts-in-kind must be reviewed with special care to ensure their usefulness to college programs. All gifts of real estate or items of questionable value must be approved by the Executive Director of the Foundation prior to acceptance. For more information on gifts-in-kind, please call the Foundation at 910-362-7029.
Honorary/Memorial Gifts
Gifts may be made to the College to honor or memorialize a friend, family member or loved one. Such gifts are acknowledged to the donor and to the person being honored or to the person's family if he/she is being memorialized.
Matching Gifts
Many companies match charitable contributions made by their current or former employees or board members. This is an excellent means to multiply the amount of a gift. Donors provide the appropriate matching gift form for submission to the matching gift company. Donors receive full credit for both the original and the matching gift.
Named Gifts
Significant gifts to the Foundation are often recognized by the naming of all or a portion of a campus building or academic program. The Foundation maintains a list of named gift opportunities. Generally, named gifts are established by way of a contribution equal to at least ten percent of the cost to create the area being named.
Giving Clubs
Names of Foundation donors are displayed on brass plaques on the donor board located in the lobby of the General Administration Building. Annual gifts in any of these categories lead to a listing on the donor board.
