Students are responsible for tuition, fees and books when they register for classes.
Students must be fully accepted in an approved program of study and registered for class in order to submit paperwork for VA benefits.
Montgomery GI Bill (Chapter 30)
Applications for VA Education Benefits (Form 22-1990) need to be completed and submitted to CFCC along with a copy of the DD214.
If the student is taking a class while still on active duty the application must be signed by the unit’s Education Officer.
National Guard and Reserves (Chapter 1606-1607)
An application for VA Education Benefits (Form 22-1990) needs to be completed and submitted to CFCC along with a NOBE (notice of basic eligibility obtained from unit). If student receives tuition assistance, a TAP form must be submitted each semester.
Dependents and spouses of disabled or deceased Veterans (Chapter 35)
An application (Form 22-5490) needs to be submitted.
If an application for any of the above chapters has been submitted to VA a copy of the Certificate of Eligibility must be provided showing CFCC as the school and the correct program of study.
If you received benefits at another school, then a Request for Change of Program or Place of Training needs to be completed and submitted after student has registered and paid for classes.
Veterans Vocational Rehabilitation (Chapter 31)
Applicants must be approved for benefits by the Veterans counseling staff before benefits can be received.
It is the student’s responsibility to advise the certifying official of any drops during the semester and each time the student registers for classes. This should be done as soon as possible to avoid a break in money. Pre-registration is strongly advised.
