How to set up extra credit in the Blackboard gradebook:
The easiest way to achieve extra credit is to make a gradebook column worth one point that does participate in gradebook calculations, and grant everyone that one point as give-away. Set things up via gradebook weighting so that this 1 point corresponds to 1% of the overall course grade. Then any percentage point of extra credit that you want to give to a student is assigned in this column: 2 points extra credit would mean the student should get a "3" in this column. This ensures correct calculation of the overall score.
