The First Annual Cape Fear Critical Thinking Symposium will focus on the following themes:

  • CT You Can Use: What really encourages students to think critically in our classrooms?  What individual and group activities help to develop students’ CT skills?  How can we address different learning styles and CT?  How does encouraging active learning encourage CT?  What are some CT activities that can be used in any discipline?  What are the best discipline-specific CT activities?
  • CT You Can Prove: What are the most effective ways of assessing our students’ CT skills?  How much can we expect our students to improve their CT skills in one unit of instruction or in one course?  What’s the most effective CT assessment feedback for students?  How can we Pre-test and Post-test our students’ CT skills?  How can we best document and analyze students’ CT skills?

The Cape Fear Critical Thinking Symposium will be held Friday, November 7, at Cape Fear Community College’s North Campus, located just minutes from Wilmington, North Carolina and area beaches.

Registration Begins July 1, 2008
